OBITUARY - LUKE GRAHAM

OBITUARY - LUKE GRAHAM

David Morton26 May 2020 - 14:02

President pays tribute to Luke......

It is with a very heavy heart I write to inform the Carlisle Rugby Club family about the tragic loss of one of our own.

On Thursday 21st May, Luke Graham lost his valiant battle against cancer and latterly Covid-19 aged just 34 years.

Luke started playing rugby with our club when he was 12 years old progressing all the way through the junior and youth teams and into the senior ranks. Luke’s infectious humour and abundant charisma quickly made him an ever popular face and friend to everyone who knew him.

Like his brothers Luke was a talented rugby player achieving county honours at U15 and U16 age group, he chose the back line and predominantly the number 10 jersey compared to his forward oriented siblings. Some have described him as one the best "kicking" fly halves at the club.

Carlisle RFC prides itself in being a community, family club and there is no family that has supported the club over so many years more than the Grahams.

Ever present Kelly and Tank, watching and supporting Luke and both his brothers Joe and Tom who also played through the junior, youth and senior ranks.... Tom of course is currently the club captain.

Luke was always fun to be around, always had an addictive smile on his face and constantly encouraged others to have fun and enjoy life. He not only leaves behind his devastated mum, dad and two brothers but devoted wife Linda and two beautiful young daughters, Caitlin 9 and Jessica 7.

Luke touched the lives of so many and his passing leaves a void that will never be filled.
Carlisle RFC will always cherish the time Luke spent with us and will remember him fondly, always.

Please note a separate posting for funeral arrangements

Luke Graham - 07.08.1985 to 21.05.2020 - Rest in Peace friend,

Martin Plummer
President
