PAY & DISPLAY CAR PARKING

PAY & DISPLAY CAR PARKING

Pay & Display Parking at CUFC

Some members will be aware, but for those that are not a Pay & Display parking system has been installed on the club park at Warwick Road. The car park is for the use of members of both the rugby club and the adjacent squash club when they are using the facilities of either of the clubs. There is often abuse of the privilege and this is compounded by unauthorised use of the car park by many local residents who use the car park as a garage.
Precise details of the charging regime are shown below. Parking wardens will regularly patrol the car park for enforcement purposes.

Members of both the rugby club and the squash club will be entitled to a MEMBERS ONLY PARKING PERMIT that will allow them to park free of charge FOR UP TO 4 HOURS WHILST USING CLUB FACILITIES.

During the rugby season there will be a relaxation of the enforcement system on a Saturday and a Sunday given the expected heavy demand for rugby purposes.
Members of either the rugby or squash clubs are asked to obtain a MEMBERS ONLY parking permit from the rugby club during opening hours. They will have to provide the registered number of the vehicle for which parking permit is to be used. The permit should be displayed in the nearside windscreen of the vehicle. Users are asked to obtain their own parking timer clock that are freely available from council offices and other outlets throughout the area. The current permits will expire on 31st August 2024 (it had originally been intended to commence P & D earlier this year) after which time new permits will become available on application, again from club staff over the bar. Staff parking will also be catered for.
Separate arrangements will be in place for private functions at the club and those booking functions will be advised accordingly when making their booking.
Co-operation of all members will be greatly appreciated.
MEMBER PERMITS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THE RUGBY CLUB FROM WEDNESDAY 17TH MARCH. YOU ARE REMINDED THAT THEY ALLOW PARKING FOR UP TO 4 HOURS WHEN USING THE FACILITIES OF THE CLUB. IF A VEHICLE IS PARKED BEYOND THAT PERIOD, THEN PENALTY CHARGES MAY BE APPLIED.
Persons wishing to apply for 3, 6 or 12 months parking permits must buy them as per the instructions on the pay and display ticket machine that is on the east facing wall of the clubhouse adjacent to the side entrance.
Whilst the parking scheme is now operational, members of the rugby and squash clubs will not be subject to penalty until after 30th April.
Please note also that the access road from Warwick Road into the club premises will shortly have double yellow lines installed on the west side of the road. It is frequently blocked, and this causes difficulties for delivery vehicles, emergency services and the like. As the club have some responsibilities for this access road it was decided that double yellow lines be put down, and any vehicles parked on that side of the road may be subject to the same penalties as for the car park.
