It is with great sadness that we report the passing of former player and supporter Phil Gowling who passed away on Monday 29 January after a short illness.
Phil was much respected player at the club in the lates 1980s and 1990s playing regularly for the 1st and 2nd XVs during this period. Renowned as a hard running centre and winger who always gave of his best. He is also remembered by teammates as a gentle giant who was respected by all.
He continued to support the club after his playing days ended, up until recently was often at the club supporting his son Josh who played for our youth sides.
Taken far too young, our thoughts are with his wife Sandra, son Josh, daughter Becky and all his family at this time.
Phil’s funeral and celebration of his life will be held on Friday 9th February, at Carlisle Crematorium @ 11:40am and afterwards at Carlisle Racecourse. There will be a live link online available should you wish to join in that way.
